On June 11, 1980, his world was interrupted. A knock sounded on the door. A witch in tattered robes stood, clutching a baby. She was a member of the Order of the Phoenix. The child, later to be named Hannah, was hers and a death-eater’s. The poor lass couldn't go to a pureblood family, too many questions, and a mainly neutral family was better. She had heard of the Abbotts. It was the closest place to go. He and his wife took the girl in. She was the second love of his life, the first being his wife, Lisa.
In 1996, he lost the first love of his life. He hadn't been there. They had found out about his daughter's background, and had killed his wife because of it. After that, he just couldn't go on. After Hannah was sent back for the year, he locked himself in a room, surrounded by pictures of Lisa. Starved and beaten (by himself), he died, his final words, to his daughter, "Why?"
